April Fools News Flash
This April Fool's day was rather tame. One friend on Facebook, over the age of 50, announced that she was pregnant. And there was another Facebook friend who announced that she was getting a tattoo. And of course there were those who believed them. That is, after all, half the fun of the April Fool's day joke.
I must admit to having been got myself yesterday but not by a person. I was got by a radio station. I am one of those people who like listening to Talk Radio shows and I will gravitate from Right to Left and then to Center and the soothing dulcet tones of NPR.
I was this time alighting on the more Leftest station and was hearing that it was all done... The corporations were now being officially made into persons who could vote and that this was an extension of that vile piece of Court action which led corporations donate to campaigns as individuals. They said that the Court had signed it into law.
I found myself getting angry and yelling “No way. They can't do that! That is so wrong!” in my car.
I was so shocked at the thought of that outrage.
And then, after losing my cool completely at the thought of our democratic way of doing things so ruined and the power being even more in the hands of the large corporations than it is now, the announcer said, “And of course that was an April Fools!”
I hope it remains an April Fools Joke.
I am now turning off the radio for awhile and looking at the possibility of getting some CDs to play in my car.
That April fool's joke was a little too successful.
