Aprils Fools Homey
April 1 is my favorite day of the year because it gets me of the hook for being a clown, all day long. My favorite prank of all time was with this girl I was dating, I'm not so sure she thought it was funny?
Here's the scene; we'd been dating for three years and her friends had all started to get married, one of them actually had kids. My girlfriend was doing more than hinting about me "popping the question." She came right out and said about a month earlier; "It's time we got engaged." Well, that scared me a bit. I mean I work in finance and tying myself down early isn't a great thing to do. Just saying.
Fast forward to April 1, 2006. She spent the night at my house the night before, I told her I had a special day planned for her. At 6:00 in the morning I slipped out of bed while she was still sleeping; "going for a run babe," I told her.
She went back to sleep.
I went downstairs and prepared the greatest breakfast, put it all on a tray, then at 8:00 went into the bedroom.
I set the tray of food at the end of the bed. She woke up to me kneeling at the side of the bed, with a jewelry box in my hand.
She looked at me.
I looked at her and started to propose; "Babe," I said as I opened the box, "will you marry me?"
She was so excited, but then I opened the box.
I'd cut a piece of a carrot and put it in there.
"April Fools," I yelled, as she pulled the carrot out of the box.
She proceeded to pick up the tray of food and throw it at/on me. Then she got up and left, that was it, we spoke once more.
Go ahead copy me.
