Green Shampoo and Meatloaf Cupcakes
Today is April Fools Day! I stayed up all night last night as the Mom to a teenager and wife to a very crazy husband thinking of just the right pranks to play! I knew I had to get my son as all day yesterday he told me he was going to do better than the typical child prank of "Hey, Mom there is a spider by you!".
Anyway, all in all today was a great prank day for Mommy!!
This morning I got up extra early and dyed our already green shampoo even more green with food coloring! As my husband bathed and showered today I heard some mutterings from the bathroom and could barely contain myself when he walked out of the bathroom looking like our own Michigan version of the Incredible Hulk! Poor guy had to leave for work with green streaks running down his face and the brightest green hair one has ever seen!
One done, one to go I thought as I sent my son off to school feeling awfully smug that I nailed his Dad and not him. This afternoon while he was taking test after test the last day before Spring Break, I was in my kitchen whipping up some cupcakes for my little scholar! What he wouldnt know and you couldnt tell from the outside was that I make meatloaf into cupcake tins, smothered them in chocolate, frosted and sprinkled them. After school he text my cell on his way home that he made it through the day and no one had pranked him. Funny little boy I thought. After he arrived from school he went right to the kitchen. "Mom can I have one of these cupcakes?" was all I heard. I told him yes and waited for a response. I got none! What I thought? So I went to see if he was enjoying it. "Yes, he said its very good," I almost fell over! I told him what he was and he ran to the kitchen and threw it away!
All in all I would say it was a good day for Mom. I got a twofer!!
