History of Earth Day -- A Must Remember Day
Whenever we think or speak about our planet, we always realize the facts such as Earth is the third planet and it is the fifth-largest among the eight planets in our Solar System, and we remember it as a massive place created for us to live. It should be realized that Earth is not only for the human race, but also for millions of species that exists even before the origin of humans. So far, it is the only gifted place in the Universe where life exists. It is interesting to know that the planet Earth formed about 4.54 billion years ago and life came in to existence within a billion years from its creation. Ever since the existence of life the biosphere of the planet has experienced significant changes. The hope of keeping lives in the planet alive for a long period relies on the hands of the human beings, who are the most dominant species in the earth.
Everyone single human who inhabits this planet has the responsibility to keep the Eco-system intact. Keeping this on mind, Earth Day emerged as a day which was created to motivate the awareness about the Earth's environment. It is celebrated on 22 April of every year. Earth Day was found in 1970 by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson and hence, the first earth day was celebrated in 1970. Now, this day is celebrated, by most countries in the world, every year. Earth Day is usually spring season in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn season in the Southern Hemisphere.
Environment of our Earth can be kept balanced by ideas such as planting more trees, recycling non-disposable things, avoiding motor vehicles as much as possible, and conserving water. Doing researches over the internet and knowing more about our planet helps in a great deal to save our planet. Nowadays people are much aware of the effects of global warming. Even children grow up with the awareness about what Earth Day represents, the awareness should remain not just on Earth day, but every day it should be remembered and the environment should be kept clean from causing further damages.
